A buying guide written for purchasing managers, not engineers: what turbo compressor spare parts exist, which parts each brand and model consumes, how to get a quote without technical knowledge, and what drives the price.
If you are a purchasing manager buying turbo compressor spare parts for the first time, the terminology can feel overwhelming: impellers, tilting pad bearings, bull gears, IGVs, diffusers… The good news: you don't need engineering knowledge to buy correctly. You need to know three things — what part categories exist, which brand and model your machine is, and what information a supplier needs from you. This guide covers all three, using IHI, Cameron (Cooper), Atlas Copco, Fusheng and Hanwha centrifugal compressors as examples.
Almost every part you will ever need to buy for a centrifugal air compressor falls into one of these seven categories:
| Category | Typical parts | When it's bought |
|---|---|---|
| Impellers & pinion shafts | 1st/2nd/3rd-stage impellers, pinion shaft assemblies | Major overhaul (every 4 years) |
| Gears | Bull gear, low-speed shaft | Major overhaul |
| Bearings | Tilting pad bearings, journal bearings, thrust bearings | Overhaul & on vibration alarms |
| Seals | Air seals, oil seals, shaft seals (all stages) | Every overhaul |
| Coolers | Intercoolers, aftercoolers, oil coolers, cooler bundles | Leakage or performance drop |
| Valves & control | IGV (inlet guide vane), blow-off valve, check valve | Control problems, surge |
| Service kits & consumables | Air/oil filter elements, oil mist separator, turbo oil, gaskets | Quarterly / yearly service |
The rotating parts (impellers, gears, bearings) are precision-manufactured and bought during overhauls — this is where an experienced supplier matters most. Impellers, bearings and intercoolers & aftercoolers each have their own detail pages with photos and specifications.
The fastest way to the right part: find your brand below, then open the parts list for your model. Every list shows what that machine consumes and the service kits that fit.
The most widely used oil-free centrifugal compressors in Asia and the Middle East. Series: T2A, TXA, TRA, TRE, T3A, TRX and the TA series (TA2000–TA11000). Typical consumption: tilting pad bearings and seals at every overhaul; impellers and bull gears at major overhauls; intercooler bundles when cooling performance drops. Full lists: T2A, TXA, TRA, TRE, T3A, TRX.
Cameron (Cooper) TA3000/TA6000/TA9000/TA11000 and MSG machines are common in oil & gas and chemical plants. Their gearbox, bearing and cooler parts are directly interchangeable with Turbomax's manufacturing drawings. Lists: TA3000, TA6000, TA9000, TA11000, MSG.
The ZH oil-free centrifugal series shares the same part categories as IHI machines: impellers, coolers, seals and bearings. Turbomax supplies ZH-series coolers, seals and rotating parts — see the cooler series page for ZH sizes.
Fusheng (Taiwan) and Hanwha (Korea) machines are widely used across Southeast Asia. Turbomax supplies their intercoolers, aftercoolers and oil coolers — with custom sizes available against drawings or samples.
This is the part that saves purchasing managers the most time. You do not need part numbers or drawings — send these nine items and you will get an accurate quotation in 24 hours:
Only items 1, 2, 5 and 6 are essential — the rest make the quotation faster and more accurate. Planning a shutdown overhaul? See our dedicated overhaul checklist & spare parts planning guide.

Price depends on four factors: part category (consumables are cheap, rotating parts are precision-machined), material grade (impellers in aluminium vs stainless steel differ significantly), quantity (a full overhaul kit is cheaper per part than single pieces), and urgency (standard production is the most economical; expedited manufacturing costs more). As a rule of thumb, alternative parts from Turbomax cost a fraction of OEM prices while meeting the same specifications — and ship in days instead of months. For an exact figure, send the checklist items from Section 3 above.
OEM-level quality at a fraction of the price, delivery in days, flexible service without rigid rules, and a team with 10 years of OEM field experience. The full reasoning — including how we guarantee material quality and dynamic balancing — is in our alternative spare parts guide. To see what this looks like in practice, read our IHI TRX160 major overhaul case with 57 photos, surge test and alignment data from a real job.
How do I order if I don't know the part names?
Photo of the nameplate + photo of the worn part is enough. An experienced supplier identifies everything from photos.
Can alternative parts replace OEM parts?
Yes — alternative parts made to OEM specifications are the standard choice for non-warranty machines. See why alternative parts.
How fast can parts be delivered?
Coolers and service kits: usually within days. Impellers, gears and bearings: manufactured to order, typically 2–4 weeks.
What if I only know the machine model, not the part?
Send the model — we will send back the full consumable parts list for that machine with prices, like the lists on our spare parts list pages.
